We dedicate our maximum commitment to make this 100% Sangiovese wine, where oenological innovation and tradition come together. Montelodoli brings to mind the primordial taste of wine, that of the collective imagination.
Grape variety
Sangiovese 100%.
Vine training system
Spurred cordon.
Location
The wine comes from the Sangiovese vineyards in “Località Montelodoli”, where the vines grow at 460 meters above sea level. This vineyard is the warmest and sunniest vineyards of the wine cellar, with strong temperature variations between day and night.
Soil
The vineyard from which this wine originates is rich in skeleton with a strong clay component, characteristics that give the grapes the right compromise between acidity and tannic richness.
Exposure
South.
Harvest
Late September, early October.
Vinification and ageing
After a careful selection in the vineyard during the harvest, done exclusively by hand, the grapes are brought to the cellar in small boxes. The winemaking protocol requires the fermentation with a minimum of 50% of whole bunch in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. When the alcoholic fermentation is almost completed, the wine is drawn off and pressed to end the fermentation. The aging for about 6 months is carried out in 500 liter tonneaux of second passage and then 6 months in stainless steel.
